SweetTalk Cph in association with Plant and Carhartt presents

Format Perspective
A skate photography documentary by Phil Evans
Grand Teatret, Copenhagen.
Monday 27 February 2012 at 21.30 (with introduction and Q&A by the director).

SweetTalk Copenhagen together with Plant and Carhartt present a screening of Format Perspective, a documentary that explores the work, lives and opinions of six European skate photographers. The film showcases the photography of Nils Svensson (Malmo – see image above), Stu Robinson (Belfast), Alex Irvine (London), Rich Gilligan (Dublin), Sergej Vutuc (Heilbronn) and Bertrand Trichet (Barcelona/Tokyo), while also giving us an insight into the different approaches used by this diverse line-up of photographers. Filmed completely on super 8 film, this project gives a behind-the-scenes look at the skating that these guys like to shoot, as well as the resulting photos that emerge from these sessions.

Book tickets via Grand Teatret here or call the cinema on 33 15 16 11. Tickets are 80kr.

The line-up for the new SweetTalk Copenhagen event on May 19, has just got better/stranger (delete as appropriate). British illustrator Jody Barton will be entertaining us with his views on the world as seen through his illustrations (jodybarton.co.uk). MTV, Dazed & Confused and a whole load more clients who love being ‘down with the kids’ have called upon Jody and he gets a certain pained expression on his face when you say that to him. Should be hilarious. He’s also got some work available through the Art Rebels guys. Incidentally he has a super-new exhibition opening tonight (Thursday May 7) in Force Of Nature gallery, Birkegade. Expected twisted watercolours and a few free beers.

Jody is also part of the renewed Grafisk Have project. An online gathering of some very fine visual people working in illustration, photography, design and what-not. They’re building up to a full-on launch in a few weeks, we’re told. Sounds good.

Anyhow – don’t miss it. The super-delicious new SweetTalk Copenhagen. May 19th.

Keep up the fine, fine work folks.
